Passenger transport
The Do228 is used as a versatile transport aircraft. It can accommodate up to 19 passengers or 18 passengers and a toilet. The aircraft can transport passengers to small airports and remote regions thanks to its ability to land on short runways. For example, the Do228 can take off and land in Lukla in Nepal, on Alderney in the British Channel Islands or on the Izu Islands off the coast of Tokyo.

Cargo transport

MedEvac flights

Paratrooper deployment
The Do228 can be configured in a special paratrooper version for the transportation and deployment of paratroopers. This allows up to 21 paratroopers and one jumpmaster to be transported. Civilian certification allows for 19 paratroopers. The equipment can be easily converted to the trooper version by removing the anchor line cable.
