That's why customers from all over the world rely on it when it comes to flying in demanding environments or on a wide variety of special missions. The Do228 is used as a special mission, passenger and cargo aircraft, and a combination of the different variants is also possible thanks to its simple conversion. Its adaptability to a wide range of missions makes the Do228 NXT one of the most versatile aircraft on the market.

Cargo transport

The Do228 has proven itself for transport flights to small airports and remote islands. It offers a large cargo compartment and can carry over 2,200 kg of freight.

Operations in extreme climates

The robust construction of the Do228 allows it to be used in harsh climatic conditions, such as snowfall, rain or strong winds.

VIP transport

The Do228 offers maximum travel flexibility, as it can reach even small and unpaved runways. In addition, the cabin can be customized to suit individual requirements.

Research platform

The special design and numerous equipment options make the Do228 NXT the ideal research platform.

Passenger transport

Transportation of up to 19 people to small islands, short and unpaved runways.

Border control

Versatile sensor options and different flight speeds and altitudes enable border control and reconnaissance flights.

Short runways

The Do228 NXT has outstanding STOL capabilities (short takeoff and landing) and can therefore reach many small airports.

Paratrooper deployment

The Do228 NXT is suitable for transporting and deploying up to 21 paratroopers.

Unpaved runways

The robust construction of the Do228 NXT enables takeoffs and landings on unpaved airfields, thus offering great mission flexibility.

Maritime patrol

The sensor options and long operational life make the Do228 NXT the ideal aircraft for maritime patrols.

Environmental monitoring

With sensor equipment and high-resolution cameras, the Do228 NXT can be used to monitor environmental pollution.

MedEvac flights

The Do228 NXT can be used to transport sick or injured persons and provide them with first aid.

Border Control

The Do228 is perfectly suited for border patrol flights. Operators benefit from the aircraft's ability to fly at very low altitudes and high speeds. When monitoring and controlling borders, many different sensors are essential for mission success, and these can be optimally installed on the Do228. The crew can collect reliable and comprehensive real-time data and transmit it to ground stations.

Passenger transport

The Do228 is used as a versatile transport aircraft. It can accommodate up to 19 passengers or 18 passengers and a toilet. The aircraft can transport passengers to small airports and remote regions thanks to its ability to land on short runways. For example, the Do228 can take off and land in Lukla in Nepal, on Alderney in the British Channel Islands or on the Izu Islands off the coast of Tokyo.
